Winegrowers can fill out the ‘Production Manifesto’ and the ‘POSEI Grape Production’ until November 15th.
This action is promoted by the Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute (IVBAM), aimed at all winegrowers who sold grapes with Madeira wine economic operators.
According to IVBAM, the completion of these two documents by winegrowers in the Autonomous Region of Madeira "is of high importance as it allows them to guarantee access to community support, which encourages, through monetary financial aid , winegrowers to invest even more in the quality of grapes suitable for transformation into certified wine, that is, in wines with Denomination of Origin 'Madeira', 'Madeirense' or with Geographical Indication 'Terras Madeirenses'".
Community support ensures that the Madeira wine region is increasingly characterized by a landscape identified with grape varieties suitable for the production of quality wines, one of the central axes of IVBAM, as a regulatory agent, certifier and promoter of the appreciation and preservation of the vineyard and Wine.
This mandatory initiative takes place at the IVBAM facilities, where winegrowers from Madeira and Porto Santo count on the technical support of the Institute. During this month of October, and in order to provide a closer service, reaching out to winegrowers, IVBAM technicians will also travel to some parish councils on the island, namely, Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, Arco of São Jorge, São Jorge and Calheta, as well as the Loja do Cidadão of Porto Santo, where they will provide direct support to winegrowers.
Still during this action and in order to understand the evolution of vineyard culture in the Region for the coming years, IVABM is carrying out a survey with winegrowers, in order to produce a work base with a view to providing a perspective in the future, with a view to defining a forecast scenario for vineyard cultivation in the Region, thus allowing the Regional Government to adjust its policies and practices in this matter for the sector.
